QA - Abbreviation for Quality Assurance

QC - Abbreviation for Quality Control

Query - A keyword, group of keywords or phrase, with or without special instructions like Boolean operators, used in a search. In simpler terms a question or request posed by a user usually a word or phrase, to find information, a particular file, record or web site in a database or search engine. Also it is what the search engine compares documents to in order to return relevant documents.

Query Expansion - The process of adding a new query to an old one. Many search engines allow users to "search within results".

Query-By-Example - A search engine feature that allows users to request documents considered similar to the document the user specifies. Also known as "Find Similar".

Quite Simply - The usability is making web site easy for visitors to find the exact information they need when they need it. Conversely, easy, intuitive navigation and strong, informative text enhance usability. For example: http://www.searchenginea2z.com (see also: KIS)

Quote - The request used in a search, the quote marks " tell most search engines that only show matches that are exactly what you are asking for. For example, a search for SEO terminology, entered without the quotes, will return different results than "SEO terminology" entered with the quotes.
